AIMS MIV UAIS products and software systems support the efforts of national and international maritime authorities to ensure safe navigation and coastal security. Important information such as vessel name (call sign), position, speed over ground, course over ground, heading, rate of turn and time stamp is automatically broadcast. Other static and voyage related information such as type of cargo, draught, dimensions, etc. is also automatically broadcast.

The 'On Air' information collected by AIMS MIV can be displayed on a variety of electronic displays including: Laptops, PCs, Palm Tops, Pocket Computers, ECS, ECDIS, ARPA and VTS. AIMS MIV utility software, standard with all units, allows users to conveniently enter new vessel data in 15 to 30 seconds and can also be used to display 'On Air' information.

AIMS MIV Transponder incorporates a communication processor, VHF transceivers and GPS (or optional DGPS) all in one case. Multiple ship sensors, display and keyboard data entry ports are included. Other options available include a long-range port for integration with satellite communication systems.
