AMI QUALITY SIGNAL CONVERSION AND ACQUISITION PRODUCTS AMI-GFV Marine Ltd has continued to manufacture high quality innovative marine electronic navigational products for many years, becoming a leading authority in voyage data recording and interfacing techniques. Spearheading the market with the VR2272 Voyage Data Recorder, the company has established an impressive customer base including many maritime blue chip companies. Using cutting edge technology AMI’s product range is both reliable and adaptable to meet the customers needs. With global logistic backup AMI’s products and services are second to none.
COMPACT, ROBUST AND EASILY INSTALLED The VR2272 conforms to all the current IMO/IEC/SOLAS standards. The system is designed such that it can be installed on new builds and retrofits alike with minimum effort. The VDR outfit comprises of a Main Electronics Unit (MEU), a Radar Acquisition Interface (RAI), an Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS), a Status and Alarm Display (SAD), and a Hardened Voyage Recorder (HVR). The modular system is compact and lightweight enabling bulkhead mounting. The VR2272 has been designed for ships with limited space and for customers with limited budgets. 12 HOURS CONTINUOUS RECORDING The VR2272 accepts all the ships proprietary signal data and stores it in the approved L3 Communications capsule (HVR).
Data capture is fully automated and requires no further action from the ships crew with the exception of the data save override which prevents data loss and the download operation when required. The following inputs can be recorded:
Note: Further input signals can be added to meet customers’ requirements.

DATA STORAGE ACCESS A minimum of 12 hours of historic playback data can be recovered by downloading the information onto a laptop computer. A further 5 days of ships data information can also be accessed from the system memory. The system can still record data without interruption during the download process.
FULLY COMPLIANT The VR2272 is fully compliant with IMO resolution A861.20, EC directive 1999/35/EC, SOLAS Chapter V, IEC 61996 (2000), IEC 61162 (1998) and IEC 60945 (1998). REAL TIME NAVIGATION AND VESSEL MANAGEMENT DISPLAY The versatility of the AMI VDR system allows a separate display monitor to be connected, providing a real-time conning display and equipment histogram.
INSTANT VDR PROGRAM AND SYSTEM UPGRADES To change the ships’ mandatory embedded text files so that they remain current with the ship’s equipment signal data and hull details, the VR2272 utilises a USB flash memory device. The USB pen enables software changes via ships e-mail. This latest innovation provides the crew with the facility to align the VDR to equipment upgrades or additions that are done after the initial installation. INTERFACING - A PRIORITY AMI-GFV Marine has based the VDR initiative on its’ proven knowledge of marine equipment interfacing. Voyage data recording performance is only as good as the interfaces that provide it with the approved proprietary data. Our mission has been to provide a range of interfaces that cater for all of the signal transformation requirements. AMI are the experts in this field and therefore have a clear advantage over competitors. Retrofits are not a problem, in fact we invite them. Typical signals that need to be converted include: Stepper, synchro, log pulse, 4-20mA, contact closure, variable DC, generic data, BCD, M type, clock, pulse, etc.
