Gyro Heading Repeater And Off Course Alarm

 

The KW991 Compass heading Repeater has a high contrast flourescent display capable of indicating ships heading in both digital and tape repeater formats.

 A tactile keypad enables the helmsman to choose a series of displays to suit the moment. Screens display a tape width of 30 or 25 degrees, digital with rate of turn, or 41 mm high big digital figures.

The KW991 also functions as an off course alarm or compass comparator alarm.  A course and data recorder version prints onto plain paper.

 

Inputs 1:- Stepper, 4 to 70 volts D.C. Six steps per degree. Synchro 360:1 26/115 Volts AC, 60/400Hz. 90X contactless transmitter. M-Type option. 1:1 synchro via KW910. Or NMEA 0183.
Input 2:- NMEA 0183. All valid sentences, plus Cetrek, and proprietary data to order.
Output :- NMEA Heading plus rate of turn. (HEHDT HEROT)
Display :- Vacuum fluroescent display. 256 x 64 pixels. Viewing area 166 x 41 mm.

SCREENS --- DIGITAL, BIG DIGITAL, 2 SCALES OF MOVING TAPE, OCA SCREEN. 
Controls :- IP 65 tactile switches operating illuminating, alignment and screen presentation.
Power :- 10 to 35 volts DC at 12 watts. (Surge at switch-on.)
Housing :- 260 x 160 x 90 diecast aluminium housing. Colour near "light Admiralty grey."
Mounting :- Panel or trunnion mounting. The instrument's high voltage display unit makes it unsuitable for mounting outside, unless it is in an environmental protective housing.

KW 950E

 Heading Repeater and Interface, Echo Sounder, Officer of the Watch Alarm 

KW950-E DATA DISPLAY INTERFACEWhenever a DIGITAL HEADING REPEATER with RATE OF TURN INDICATOR is called for think of the KW950.  

The KW950 outputs NMEA 0183 and is therefore ideal as a gyro interface. 

Points to note are that it will interface gyros that competitors can not interface.  The simplicity of the KW950 makes it very LOW COST. All the connections use PLUGGABLE terminal blocks. They lift off to ease wiring. Cable entry via glands.

The DIN case is the industry standard, with a lip for panel mounting, 

The data output options make the KW950 ideal for survey use, and ECDIS interfacing. 

Inputs :- DC Stepper six steps per degree, 26/115 Volt 50-400 Hz synchro 1 rev/deg, 90x Contactless transmitter, M-Type or NMEA 0183, GPS, Log pulses 200 or 400 pulses per mile, echo sounder  transmit and receive pulses, 
Inputs :- NMEA 0183 heading sentences. Gyro has priority. Cetrek, Yokogawa, Robertson, SG Brown proprietary data, Anschutz Coursebus. Or in pass-through mode, GPS data.
 
Output :- NMEA 0183 default $HEHDT,x.x,T and $HEROT
One per second and whenever heading changes.

Two 5v CMOS drivers for Furuno data and clock or Yokogawa 2400 baud data.

The data inputs can not handle 38400 baud as standard.
Display:- 4 digit red LED 0.6 inch, 15mm high for heading. Adjustable illumination using buttons.
Control:- 3 push button switches for align, increase and decrease.

Connections:- Via cable glands to removable terminal blocks.
Housing :- DIN case 144 wide, 72 high, 142 mm deep. Flame retardant to DIN 43700.
Supplied with screw clamps for panel mounting and a trunnion.
